my story
My name is Catherine, I am a family doctor specializing in pediatrics, I have three children… and I have always been passionate about colors.
Studio Écru came to life when I realized how my dedication for accurate diagnoses could be combined with my love for color and its thousand shades.
This comes from several years of exploring how to fully express my creative potential, my entrepreneurial side, and my desire to build something aligned with my own standards and values, while continuing to practice medicine on a daily basis.
I’ve tried to channel my love of color and aesthetics into many different pursuits over the years. I realize now how my attentive eye for color has found its place in the study of personal color analysis. It is a structured, logical, and organized approach that calls for discernment, as well as a strong sense of harmony and visual coherence. It feels like a natural meeting point between my (slightly obsessive) analytic mindset and my creative inclinations (and, incidentally, my inability to draw!).
My medical training at McGill University shaped the way I observe—through attention to detail, pattern recognition, and a structured way of thinking. Over time, this focus on arriving at the right diagnosis has naturally extended into my passion for color, where subtle variations in tone, contrast, and balance can be read with the same level of care. What began as a personal interest has gradually evolved into a practice of its own.
I truly hope to be able to share this perspective and passion into my work by helping clients discover the colors that suit them best—so they can better understand what enhances their natural features and make simpler, more confident choices in their everyday lives.

A dual color analysis
expertise for Montreal
Today, I am proud to be the only practitioner in Quebec trained in two distinct personal color analysis systems developed in different cultural contexts:
– The 23 Seasons System of the International Image Institute (Toronto)
– The Formal Color Curator certification from Cocory Color (Seoul)
These systems, while based on different foundations, offer complementary perspectives. One is grounded in long-standing practice, while the other is informed by objective data drawn from over 40,000 analyses.
Bringing them together has allowed me to refine my reading of color and adapt my work to each individual, offering a level of precision and nuance that goes beyond generalized color analysis. This is particularly relevant in a diverse and multicultural context such as Montreal, where a wide range of features and undertones are represented.
Unique methods and tools
Those who know me know that I don’t approach things halfway. My interest in color analysis began out of genuine curiosity and quickly grew into a deeper commitment to understanding it thoroughly. Following my formal training, I continued to explore and refine my approach, developing a consultation process that reflects my own standards of quality.
Each of our sessions has been carefully designed by selecting and adapting tools and references drawn from leading color analysis systems around the world. Rather than being shaped by practical constraints, the materials were chosen with the sole objective of achieving consistent and reliable results. This includes a wide and carefully curated range of colors, organized to support a more nuanced and individualized analysis. Many align with contemporary palettes and are identified using clearly defined color systems, ensuring your results remain easy to understand and apply over time.

The result is a structured, thorough, and high-quality color analysis experience that goes beyond standardized methods—offering a more refined, tailored, and globally informed approach to personal color analysis.
What you can expect

Professionalism
Each consultation is approached with care and attention, in a setting designed to feel calm, welcoming, and focused.
Objectivity
In medicine, we learn to meet each new patient and listen attentively to their story without ever making a preconceived diagnosis. It is with this perspective that I plan to assess each of my clients, one at a time and without assumptions, taking the time to assess your features with a fresh perspective and a structured, methodical process in order to determine your most accurate results.
Time
I place great importance on taking the time needed to arrive at clear and reliable results. When needed, we revisit and confirm observations to ensure the palette we determine is correct and therefore truly enhances your natural self.

A clear and lasting understanding
It’s clear to me that there’s nothing more frustrating than advice that feels vague or difficult to apply. That’s why I take the time to explain how to recognize your colors in a way that is both clear and practical.
In medicine, we often refer to “clinical pearls”—simple, concrete, and easy-to-remember insights that make a lasting difference. I bring the same approach to color analysis, offering guidance you can easily recognize and use in your everyday choices.
Following your consultation, you will receive a beautifully detailed report summarizing what we’ve covered, so you can confidently refer back to it over time.
